Yes, I know some of you may think but you have only one kid! I know, I know. But between two months of being out of town at my parents’ house in Florida while the hubby was out of the country for work (did I mention that my parents are so terrified of my child that they NEVER offer to watch him so that I go out and have a break with a friend or even just by myself) and now a few weeks back at our home with the hubby working from home at all hours of the day. This mommy is experiencing burnout at a personal level. My schedule has been thrown off, my house is a wreck, and most of all I haven’t had any quiet time to just myself. Yes, that means my love of blogging had to be put on hold to take care of various things. My dear friends that know me know that I require time to mellow out – not days, just an hour or two uninterrupted. According to my Blogthings quiz result I have a Melancholic Temperament* (I know sometimes the results are crazy, but mine is on the money). And, yes, a day with some other mommies would be great or a mom’s night out would be fantastic, but it is hard to stay close within a mom group when you travel a lot. So I am not so tight with my mom group anymore. And in case you missed it, both our families and close friends are far, far away since we moved here when the hubby was in the Army. Okay, so enough of my whining, I’m sure I am not in the worst situation. After all I will be heading to Bloggy Boot Camp with the SITS gals on Saturday. Guess who will have a hotel room without a hubby or toddler for Saturday night?!?!? MEEEEEEE!!! I am so excited to have a night off from being needed. Woo hoo!!! Yes, I love my hubby and I love my toddler, but I do need some me time.
*Here is what that says about me:
Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.
Given enough time alone, it’s easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life.
Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.
At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.

I know what you mean about burnout and needing time away from what you do. I'm there with ya! I hope you enjoy your "you time!"
1 kid, 3 kids, 8 kids, parenting is hard. I know exactly how you feel! Take some time for you, you deserve it.

Have a wonderful weekend!!! Stopping by from SITS
I ONLY have one child too and I feel your pain! I just sent my husband and my daughter to a seminar at her Tae Kwon Do school ALONE (and neither of them was too happy about it) just so I could have a minute or two by myself, just ME–well, and the cats, but they are really quiet and don't make demands of me every five seconds so it's okay
If you're ever in my neck of the woods we'll ditch the kids and hubbys and hang out, k? lol
I can totally relate to mommy burnout…2 weeks alone with my 2 children…
