Barely Domestic Mama

EA Sports Active

I don’t know if you seen it yet, but I have seen it all over the place…and I got the hubby to cave in and buy it on Saturday! EA Active is $59.99, but well worth it so far. This is more what I was looking for when I bought the Wii Fit.

I am UNBELIEVABLY sore! Right now I am participating in the 30 Day Workout that was created by EA Sports in collaboration with Bob Greene. Today is my day of rest and you have no idea how thankful I am that today is a rest day! My arms and legs are so sore. I’ve been trying to take it easy around the house because of the pain. My hubby was laughing at me yesterday. He said I was walking around the house looking like Dr. House (from House, M.D.) hobbling in pain. I haven’t actually looked at the other options in the game because I am scared of the personal trainer! I hear that’s painful, too. Oh well…I guess if I want to get back into shape there is going to have to be some pain.

What comes in the box:
The product will come with the software, a resistance band to use for your upper body exercises and a specially designed neoprene leg strap that fits the nunchuk to track your lower body movements.

I will be spending most of today recovering. I am so out of shape! Day 1 was the worst for me. I’ll admit I am horribly out of shape and what my doctor would categorize as obese. I know, I know…terrible considering I am only 27! I was so excited to try out the 30 Day workout that we tried it out after we ate a dinner while we were out shopping. I had a plate full of Lebanese mezzas (appetizers) that had hummus, meat sambousek, kibbeh, stuffed grape leaves, and tabouleh. Probably not the ideal meal to start a workout an hour later with…especially if you are like me severely out of shape. Day 1 was eventful…I started the workout. All was going well except that I had a horrible pain in my foot that I was trying to ignore (I wasn’t running in place correctly – hubby fixed that) and then with two exercises left to go I was just sure that I was going to vomit. I was so sick that my hubby had to unstrap the leg strap for me because I was focused on not puking on our carpet. I didn’t throw up, but I spent at least 30 minutes under a cool shower waiting to puke and trying to cool off. Not a lovely site. Day 2 was uneventful! Yeah! I made it through all the exercises without wanting to puke, but I did have some choice words for my onscreen trainer since I was starting to feel sore more yesterday. Hopefully tomorrow won’t kick my butt severely.

Anyone else using the EA Active? Let me know what you think about the personal trainer and/or the 30 Day workout.

Thank you so much for posting your review!! I was looking at this at Target the other day and just wasn’t sure about it. I might consider it now! Congrats on your first step to losing your unwanted pounds!! It might not seem like a lot now, but taking that first step is HUGE!!! You’ll be adapting and shedding those pounds before you know it – way to go! And please keep doing updates on your progress =)

I’d been thinking about this one. We still have our membership at Golds. And I love it there. But with the infant I’ve got in my childcare I can’t get out of the house much. For some reason if I don’t workout in the morning it don’t happen. I LOVE the hula hoop on the fit, it kills I bet this is GREAT. I’ll have to give it a go. BTW sorry about the dreams I had them too! Maybe it’s in the MD air?!

I am so happy to see a review of this product. I have been eyeing it, but to date everything else that has come out for Wii Fit has gotten horrible reviews. I will definitely be purchasing it.
Popping in from SITS just to say Happy Tuesday!

I keep seeing people mentioning this. I think I may finally look into it (even though it sounds painful).

I hope your aches and pains go away and the rest of your workouts go well!

  6. I was looking at that! We just joined a gym, but I think this still would be good for at home

Thanks for the recommendation. The birthday bunny did bring one after all. I've only tried it once, but I could really feel it in my legs later.
