As the wife of a former Army soldier that served his country for 9 years (and has had two tours – one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan), this is a cause that touches my heart. Dunkin’ Donuts has teamed up with Homes For Our Troops for Iced Coffee Day.
Dunkin’ Donuts has announced Tuesday, April 21st to be a special “Iced Coffee Day” event. Dunkin’ stores throughout the country will sell small iced coffees for the reduced price of only 50 cents. 10% from each cup sold will go to Homes for Our Troops, a national, non-profit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.
You can even RSVP to the “Iced Coffee Day” event on Facebook!
Dunkin’ Donuts is also launching a nationwide call to recruit one million new volunteers to support Homes for Our Troops’ efforts. Volunteer opportunites include donating services for a local “Build Brigade” to help construct a home for a verteran in need, donating materials, equipment or land for new homes, joining a street team to help build awareness, hosting a virtual fundraiser, or making a monetary donation.
(FYI – if you are a Busy Mom reader, this same post will be up on their site tomorrow. So just in case you feel like you are seeing doubles…well, you are. But I am posting on both sites so that everyone gets a chance to read this.)
