Barely Domestic Mama

So much drama in two days!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before now, but I am an administrator and organizer for our area mom’s group. Being part of the administrative staff for a mom’s group can be very rewarding, but also can leave you with days where you feel like you are banging your head against a wall. You come across all different types of moms in all different walks of life. For me being a part of the mom’s group means a lot because we don’t have any family in this area and the only real friends I have made here are through my mom’s group. Wednesday I went to another local county mom’s group(they are our sister group) play date – and I think I caused the breakdown of the group. Certain member’s had issues before I went to the play date, but they seemed to have been magnified with me showing up. One person in particular went out of her way to make sure she didn’t acknowledge me the whole time I was there which was almost four hours. I’m okay if people don’t like me, but don’t be straight up rude to me the first time you meet me. I talked with group owner to try to help her work through some the issues her group was having. But these particular group of troublemakers made sure to run the group owner out by Wednesday night. Come Thursday around lunchtime that local mom group was gone. The group owner couldn’t handle them anymore and I don’t blame her. They had all turned against her. She was fighting a losing battle. I felt so bad for her. She belongs to other mom groups and has never been treated like that by any of them. Our local county hasn’t had any drama like that which I am thankful for. I’m hoping that the drama doesn’t spill back into the area’s group since some of the other member’s belong to the area’s group and the local county’s group. It all feels surreal.

I’m with Annie.. write a book … why not? We have the Nanny Diaries and mean girls. These moms fit into the same mold. I don’t get WHY some people never grew out of the High School years!!! I could tell ya some stories about moms in my area.. maybe it’s in the water in MD?

hi neighbor I am alsoin Maryland-Baltimore County, in White Marsh- . I was also in a moms group not long ago with and I had my experiences with some crazy moms, its sad to think they are teaching their kids this is ok. Yeah maybe it is in the water here, Cause I have met some really off the wall people.

We also homeschool and let me tell you some of those moms are unimaginable.

It never ceases to amaze me how some ‘mean girls’ never really grow up they only grow nastier! If they want to have their own bitchy mommy group then let ‘em. While they’re gossiping about all the other moms and stabbing each other in the back you and your nice mommy group will be having fun actually enjoying each other’s company. I swear….some people! Uggg…
