Ooh La La Mama is giving away Target gift cards!

Cindy at Ooh La La Mama is at it again giving away free stuff! She not only has her own online shop with fabulous clothes that she designs, but she is an ER doctor! I don’t know where she finds the time to be fantastic as not only a doctor, but a designer/entrepreneur (Vote for her at Start Up Nation) and a fantastic mother to her two boys! Her Twitter messages have been known to leave me in giggles! You can follow her on Twitter @cindyoohlala.

Next week she is giving away 3 Target gift cards for $50 each to 3 lucky winners! How do you enter? First – you must follow her blog and leave a comment to on her Target, Target, Target post. Be sure to tell her I sent you. I won a Target gift card from her before and wouldn’t mind winning again. Winners chosen by random drawing on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2pm (PST) .

Good Luck and be sure to stop by her store and check out her fabulous children’s clothes.

So much drama in two days!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before now, but I am an administrator and organizer for our area mom’s group. Being part of the administrative staff for a mom’s group can be very rewarding, but also can leave you with days where you feel like you are banging your head against a wall. You come across all different types of moms in all different walks of life. For me being a part of the mom’s group means a lot because we don’t have any family in this area and the only real friends I have made here are through my mom’s group. Wednesday I went to another local county mom’s group(they are our sister group) play date – and I think I caused the breakdown of the group. Certain member’s had issues before I went to the play date, but they seemed to have been magnified with me showing up. One person in particular went out of her way to make sure she didn’t acknowledge me the whole time I was there which was almost four hours. I’m okay if people don’t like me, but don’t be straight up rude to me the first time you meet me. I talked with group owner to try to help her work through some the issues her group was having. But these particular group of troublemakers made sure to run the group owner out by Wednesday night. Come Thursday around lunchtime that local mom group was gone. The group owner couldn’t handle them anymore and I don’t blame her. They had all turned against her. She was fighting a losing battle. I felt so bad for her. She belongs to other mom groups and has never been treated like that by any of them. Our local county hasn’t had any drama like that which I am thankful for. I’m hoping that the drama doesn’t spill back into the area’s group since some of the other member’s belong to the area’s group and the local county’s group. It all feels surreal.

The lost followers mystery

Alright, waking up to the loss of my 20 of my followers was horrifying. I thought it was something I said! Thank goodness I was not the only one that was experiencing it! Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom directed me to A Nut in a Nutshell’s blog which explained the glitch. Yeah! I have changed over any of my blogs that were somehow were changed to anonymous back to public! Sorry if you thought you lost a follower. I promise I haven’t stopped following anyone in at least two months! I hope you all will go back and check your the blogs you are following to make sure that you are publicly following if that is what you originally set it to.

Finally! We’ve got our bed back…somewhat

Okay, okay…I know quite a few people frown on co-sleeping, but it is what worked for us. And I am always the first to say that co-sleeping isn’t for everyone. I had a traumatic c-section recovery which made nursing my son almost next to impossible (I’ll save that story for another day) but when I finally did get that down I was losing so much sleep that we decided to try out co-sleeping and it worked. I got the best sleep and so did our Little Monkey. There were many different excuses that came up to not put Little Monkey back in his crib – mainly me excusing it while the hubby complained. Well, now that the Little Monkey will be two in April – it’s probably time to put him to sleep in his own bed. Sunday night was great. Little Monkey slept the whole night until 9:30am! Okay, well, we didn’t sleep as great as him since every time he whined in his sleep we woke right up because we put a monitor in his room. I had to stop the hubby several times from rushing into Little Monkey’s room since I could tell he was still asleep through his whining. Last night…not so good…he woke up around 2am talking to his walls. The hubby got him and brought into our bed where he fell asleep around 20 minutes later. We woke up for the day at 6:40am. I’m not sure how tonight will go, but I’m hoping that it will be better.

Do you have Manta Mania?! Win a trip to SeaWorld Orlando – ENDED

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SeaWorld. I can’t wait to take Little Monkey to SeaWorld since it is one of my favorite parks. My family used to go at least once a year since we lived in Florida. It’s the only park that my mom can enjoy with all of us since there are plenty of things for her to do that don’t only require her to be spun around and/or flipped upside down. I love roller coasters! And I love marine life which makes this park perfect for me. I think being able to pet a dolphin at the Dolphin Cove is one of the coolest things ever! For some reason, dolphins really like my dad and he gets to pet them every time, but I’m not always that lucky.

IZEA
(this is the same company I won a $500 Kmart gift card from) and SeaWorld have teamed up to give one person a trip for four to SeaWorld Orlando including airfare, hotel and two full days at the park. Not only that… you will get priority access to ride Manta!

Lazy morning with Dunkin’ Donuts

Have I shared my love of Dunkin’ Donuts with you all yet? I love Dunkin’ Donuts. I have to admit that this love started many years ago thanks to my one of my uncles. He is now a retired NYPD officer, but years ago when he was still working and my family lived in New Jersey he would bring us Dunkin’ Donuts whenever he came over to visit. For years I never associated the police officer and donuts, but it made me crack up the day I did put that together. My uncle is an awesome guy and I was really sad when we moved away from New Jersey because we wouldn’t be able to see him, his wife, or my awesome cousin as much as we used to. My love of Dunkin’ Donuts has stayed with me though the move. And it actually brings a smile to my face whenever I see Dunkin’ Donuts because it makes me think of those times when I was younger.

I wrote two posts for Busy Mom covering their new yummy menu items: Waffles on the go and DDSmart menu items (the contest ended a while ago in that post, but checkout the new healthier items they have added to their menu.)

Right now I am waiting for the hubby to make it back from Dunkin’ Donuts since I was craving the Waffle Sandwich. Soooo yummy. Their hashbrowns are awesome too. Thanks to clipping coupons in the Sunday newspaper (which he is supposed to get while he is out, too) I am getting my Waffle Sandwich for $1.99 because my hubby is getting the medium coffee. Yeah! Did you know Dunkin’ Donuts has a Twitter account?! You can follow them at @DunkinDonuts.

Can I have a clean house please?

Okay, so this weekend I will be doing some serious organizing. Very often I feel like Monica from “Friends” everything looks organized until you get to that closet that has all sorts of stuff thrown in it. I’m guilty, but instead of a closet…it’s my upstairs guest bedroom. Not good. It’s like a hurricane of stuff I can’t convince myself to go through and get rid of…and I’m not a pack rat. I’ll be the first to go through and get rid of stuff, but for a while I thought I would put a lot of the stuff I have in there on eBay. Who am I kidding?! I’ve been holding onto that stuff for almost 2-3 years now. It would take me a year to get all the stuff listed between my toddler and my hubby interrupting me all the time. My problem is I clean out one room, but instead of cleaning I feel like I am moving the mess from one room to another…I need to get the mess out of my house. I’m going to donate most of that stuff to Good Will. I love finding a good deal at Good Will, why not do that for someone else?! I have put some stuff aside for the local Women’s shelter, too. Yeah for cleaning! Blegh! Too bad I quit drinking caffeinated drinks – this would definitely be a weekend for it.

What are your plans for the weekend?

IHOP National Pancake Day

IHOP IHOP National Pancake Day

Known also as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, National Pancake Day dates back several centuries to when the English prepped for fasting during Lent. Strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products…hence the name Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday.

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly two million dollars to support charities in the communities in which it operates. With your help, we hope to raise $1,000,000 for Children’s Miracle Network in 2009!

On Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 7:00am to 10:00pm, IHOP will be giving away one free short stack (three) of their famous buttermilk pancakes.* All they ask is that you consider making a donation to support local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network, or other local charities.

Doesn’t that sound yummy?! And it is going towards a good cause! I’ve been seeing the commercial for this on the tv and thought I would share if you haven’t seen it already. I’m pretty sure the little guy and I will be going to our local IHOP for National Pancake Day – as long as neither one of us is still sick. It would be nice to get out of the house and IHOP pancakes sound delicious. Mark this down on your calendar so you don’t forget.

*There is a limit of one free short stack per guest. The offer is valid at participating restaurants for dine-in only while supplies last and is not valid with any other offer, special coupon or discount.
