Barely Domestic Mama

There’s no place like home.

I’m going to visit my hometown in Florida in 8 days!!! This is the best way to start the New Year! I am soooo excited. I miss home so bad. I miss my family and friends. Thanks to my hubby being in the Army we moved to Maryland after we got married because that was his new station instead of Fort Gordon, GA (where he was going to school when we met). We’ve been in Maryland since the summer of 2005. I still want to go home as badly as when I got here. I miss seeing my parents. I talked to my dad every day on the phone, but it just isn’t the same. I miss my 6 year old twin nephews. I would say I miss my sister (the boys’ mom) but she still is a bag of drama at this point and I’m sure after seeing her for one day I will be drained because she is that much of a mess that I can’t fix. But it still is nice to be home. I will get to meet my new little boy cousin that was born in October!

I live in L.A. and can’t wait to move back to NY where all my family and friends are. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a few years as due to a custody situation I am stuck here for the moment but I’m determined to make it back. Have a great trip.

We were in the military for almost twelve years and spent all of them stationed away from family. It is hard being away from family and missing them so much. Enjoy your trip home!
